Católica Porto Business School and EY develop innovative study in Portugal

In a strategic partnership between the Centre for Management Studies and Applied Economics (CEGEA) of Católica Porto Business School (CPBS), APED and the consulting firm EY, a pioneering study was developed in the field of omnichannel commerce in Portugal - Omnichannel Maturity Index 2022. The omnichannel strategy can be described as a business strategy that seeks to offer the consumer a unique shopping experience, in all channels - physical, mobile and online.

With scientific support from Professor Susana Costa e Silva and Miriam Salomão, the research aimed to research, analyse and systematise the state of the art of omnichannel retail in Portugal, resulting in the creation of the OmniChannel Maturity Index, an innovative tool that allows a quick and accurate assessment of the degree of maturity in the different dimensions of an omnichannel business.

Through the OmniChannel Maturity Index, companies will be able to assess their omnichannel agility in several key dimensions and direct their efforts to refine specific points of their operations, improving the customer journey and strengthening their competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic market.

The study thus represents a significant milestone in the field of omnichannel commerce in Portugal. The expectation is that this research will stimulate growth and innovation in the sector, encouraging companies to seek more integrated and efficient solutions to meet the expectations of modern consumers.
