Católica health volunteers collaborate at World Youth Day health centre

From 20 July to 5 August, Católica health volunteers, a group composed of nurses, doctors and psychologists, and 3rd and 4th year nursing and medical students from the Universidade Católica are collaborating at the World Youth Day Health Centre.

During this period, "the students are under the clinical supervision of health professionals, providing health care and referring pilgrims to other resources in serious situations," explains Amélia Simões Figueiredo, Director of the School of Nursing of the Institute of Health Sciences.

In addition to assisting pilgrims, the group of Health volunteers, led by professors Filipa Andrade and Filipa Veludo, provides support to the "Meeting of Pope Francis with Young University Students", on the Palma de Cima campus.

The Institute of Health Sciences and the Católica Medical School are responsible for this post, in collaboration with the Catholic Association of Nurses and Health Professionals and the National Association of Portuguese Catholic Doctors.
