Call for Papers for the I Lisbon Spring School in Translation Studies

The Faculty of Human Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa organises the 1st edition of the Lisbon Spring School in Translation Studies from 13 to 18 March 2023, at the Universidade Católica and the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Interested applicants may send paper proposals to cecc@ucp.pt before January 20.

Under the theme "Translation is a many-splendored thing", the event aims to open space for the sharing of ideas, methodologies and good practices in the field of Translation Studies. This first edition of the Lisbon Spring School in Translation Studies also seeks to encourage the participation of young researchers and students working in translation studies.

The programme includes lectures by academics affiliated to national and international institutions, paper presentation sessions (by PhD students and early career researchers), poster presentation sessions (by Master's students) and workshops on translation, including also a cultural programme.

Margarida Abreu Award
The  Faculty of Human Sciences will honor the legacy of Margarida Abreu, a social worker and distinguished professor, by establishing the Margarida Abreu Award, which aims to support, on an annual basis starting in the 2026/2027 academic year, one student entering the Undergraduate Degree in Social Work whose life story demonstrates exceptional resilience, the ability to overcome challenges, and a commitment to the values of social work.
