Braga Regional Center offers workshop to the academic community this Christmas

The Braga Regional Centre of the Portuguese Catholic University organizes a Christmas campaign in partnership with FACes - Centro de Atendimento e Formação Especializada and offers an online Workshop "Growing in adversity" to the entire academic community. Three one-hour sessions will be held on 14 and 15 December from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and 16 December from 3pm to 4pm.

Growing in adversity has as proposal to take each one of us to a greater reflection in this period of pandemic caused by Covid-19. It is intended with this course that, through a greater awareness of ourselves, we can touch more deeply in our own existence and consequently achieve a greater understanding of the meaning that these adversities have in each one of us. The main purpose will be to awaken the capacity that each one of us has to face, come out renewed and strengthened from these adverse experiences.

The purpose is to reflect on the growth that adversities can stimulate in our lives. It is urgent and pertinent to find a meaning in this context of crisis that we live so that in this way we can evolve as Human Beings.

To live is to FEEL with all intensity. Whether on its positive or negative side. It is precisely adversities that often help us find our way. But this path requires first a reflection, an encounter with the deeper Self in search of meaning. This sense allows us to see that often we are no longer who we were and we are no longer where we were. We certainly become others, bigger and better.

Why does pain exist? Is it merely something destructive, or can we turn it into an opportunity for growth? Seeing the pain only because of the suffering it causes can make a human being desperate, but perceiving oneself alive even by being crossed by this pain can lead us to grow, renew and rebuild ourselves, making it possible to find a new meaning to live in.
