Barbie Zelizer elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Barbie Zelizer has just been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAC), which honors excellence and brings together leaders from different fields of knowledge to examine new ideas and contribute to solving societal challenges. The AAAC studies have helped to set the course for research as well as science and technology, global security and international affairs, social policy, education and the humanities.

For the Director of the Faculty of Humanities, this is "an entirely deserved distinction that recognises the work of one of the most influential intellectuals in the studies of journalism and memory". According to Prof. Nelson Ribeiro, "it has been a privilege for the Faculty of Humanities to have Professor Barbie Zelizer as Distinguised Guest Professor and Co-Founder of Lisbon Winter School".
