On 2 December, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) opens the exhibition "Kakure Kirishitan - Hidden Christians", at the João Paulo II University Library (BUJPII).

The exhibition explores the experience of the Christian faith in Japan, highlighting the memory of the hidden Christians who kept their religion a secret during centuries of persecution. The exhibition also marks the 440th anniversary of the passage of the Tenshō Embassy through various Portuguese locations.

The opening ceremony, organised in partnership with Japan's Yumenosya Foundation and UCP's Institute of Asian Studies, will feature speeches by several prominent personalities, including Bishop Rui Valério, Patriarch of Lisbon, Ota Makoto, Japanese Ambassador to Portugal, and Tatsuo Shirahama, President of the Yumenosya Foundation.
