Online

The School of Nursing (Lisbon) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa is promoting an open class as part of the ‘Ethics and Deontology in Nursing’ course unit of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Conscientious objection in healthcare is a right of professionals to safeguard their values and principles when interventions that violate this ethical conscience are at stake.

This open class will address conscientious objection in healthcare in its different dimensions, in order to clarify the main ethical and legal issues inherent to it.

Miguel Ricou and Rosalva Almeida, members of the National Council of Ethics for Life Sciences and co-rapporteurs of the Council's Opinion on conscientious objection, will address the topic. The event will be moderated by Sérgio Deodato and Lurdes Martins.
