Universidade Católica and Centro Cultural de Belém sign partnership agreement within the scope of The Lisbon Consortium
Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) have signed a collaboration agreement, strengthening The Lisbon Consortium, an international reference network that brings together the master's and doctoral programmes in Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) and the most prestigious cultural institutions in Lisbon.
The partnership provides for the joint development of academic and cultural initiatives, including seminars, applied projects, internships, and opportunities for research and study of the collection.
Ranked as the second best programme worldwide in the field of arts and culture management, The Lisbon Consortium is about "bringing institutions into the university, but also allowing the university to serve culture and the development project of the institutions. In this sense, it is a unique programme," said the rector of Católica and director of The Lisbon Consortium, Isabel Capeloa Gil, at the partnership signing ceremony. She also added that the inclusion of the CCB will allow for the co-creation of seminars, the development of joint activities and the maximisation of the talent of the master's and doctoral students involved.
“This collaboration comes at a particularly important time for the CCB, as we strengthen our mission through research and professional training. Joining The Lisbon Consortium will enable us to enhance our documentary collection and promote new opportunities for internships, study and academic development,” emphasised Nuno Vassallo e Silva, Chairman of the CCB Board of Directors, who also pointed out the interest in furthering the collaboration through a summer school.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Culturgest, Lisbon City Council, the Theatre and Dance Museum and the Portuguese Film Archive are some of the institutions that, among others, are already part of The Lisbon Consortium, which now adds the CCB to its network of partners.
A unique and innovative cooperation programme, distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach and international environment, with more than 70% of its students coming from abroad, The Lisbon Consortium aims to promote advanced training in the multidisciplinary field of Cultural Studies, as well as the professional integration of students, forming a collaborative network that brings together theory, applied research, cultural programming and management.
