Professor Dr Antonis Zorpas is a Chemical Engineer, actively engaged with several Universities, Research Institutes in Europe. He is Professor at Open University of Cyprus (OUC), Director of the Lab of Chemical Engineering & Engineering Sustainability, Director in Sustainable Environmental Engineering Postgraduate Master (MSc) and member of OUC Senate. He has more than 700 publications (books, contribution on books, papers in peer review journals, international conferences). His is editor in 6 scientific Book such as (i) SHAPING THE FUTURE: Energy Transition in the Defense Sector (2024) published by European Defense Agency, European Commission (Co-Editor). (ii) Advances in biofuels production, optimization and applications (2024) published by Elsevier (Co-Editor), etc. His Google h-index now over 67, with more than 15000 citations. He has recognized since 2019 among the worlds to 0.5% in the list of the most influential researchers in the world in the section of Environmental Science and on 0.5% in the section of Chemical Engineering based on bibliometric data from the Stanford University (USA) and Elsevier Report. Hence, the data base from Google, Scholar-GPS places him #4th on the Planet in the era of Waste Management, Circular Economy, and among the 0.5% of the most Influential Scientist in the Planet in the Era of Chemical Engineering. In addition, his acting as Editor on behalf of several Scientific Journals such as the Chemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier, I.F13.2/Q1), Waste Management and Research (SAGE, I.F 4.2, Q1) and many others. He has supervised more than 100 students in completing their Master Thesis. Overall, he has supervised more than 15 PhD students until now. His research background is in the area of Strategic Panning Development in the Framework of Circular Economy and Bioeconomy, Waste Management, Life Cycle Assessment, End-of Waste Criteria, Material Flow Analysis, Food Waste, Fashion Waste, Micro plastics, Circular Communication etc. He has participated in more than 50 EU research project the last 15 years. For more than 20 years, he was acting as Consulting Engineer on behalf of several industrial activities and governmental authorities. In 2019 he received honorary distinction for his long-standing contribution to the environmental issues of Cyprus from the President of the Republic of Cyprus. He collaborates with European Commission since 2008 (e.g Strategic Advisor for EURASHE 2016-2029, as Technical Expert on behalf of European Defense Agency since 2022-2024, Member of the Steering Scientific Advisory Committee for Circular-Bio Based Europe – Joint Undertaking from 2025-2028, etc).

David Steven Jacoby is a supply chain economist. He teaches graduate Operations Management and Supply Chain Management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and School of Arts and Sciences, and at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering. David is also the founder and Chairman of Boston Strategies International, a strategy consulting firm that helps asset owners, investors and operators of major power and transport projects minimize supply chain cost, assure supply security, and maximize supply chain resilience.
He has contributed extensively to the field of supply chain management, having written books including Guide to Supply Chain Management for The Economist, Reinventing the Energy Value Chain for PennWell Books, Getting to Net Zero: Decarbonizing Businesses and Supply Chains, Retooling America for AI-Driven Supply Chains, and six others. He holds an MBA and a Master of Arts from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a judge for MIT’s Capstone Thesis and the International Supply Chain Educational Association‘s (ISCEA) Prize for Supply Chain Excellence. He was previously a Senior Fellow at Boston University’s Institute for Sustainable Energy, an adjunct professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business and Boston University’s Questrom School of Management, and was a global management consultant at Kearney and Oliver Wyman in the United States, France, Brazil, Hong Kong, and elsewhere.
David is passionate about building businesses that transform supply chains. Based on extensive management experience in energy, automotive, transport, and retail managing and advising executive leadership teams, he has deep and practical first-hand knowledge of what’s on the other end of your international supply chain. He holds supply chain certifications including Certified Supply Chain Practitioner (CSCP), Certified in Transportation & Logistics (CTL), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM), and Certified in Energy Trading (Associated of Energy Engineers, AEE), and his academic and professional contributions to the field of supply chain management span hundreds of publications and media events.
