Five years of study. Two Undergraduate Degrees. Countless career opportunities.
The Double Degree in Law and Management is the result of a joint partnership between the Porto Faculty of Law and Católica Porto Business School. The programme enables students to complete two distinct undergraduate degrees — one in Law and one in Management — over a total of 10 semesters.
This structure opens access to the full range of professions connected to both fields, including admission to the Portuguese Bar Association, tax and financial consultancy, corporate legal practice, transaction analysis, planning and structuring, contracting and negotiation, financial auditing, regulatory roles, corporate services, and institutional relations.
Law and Management: two complementary fields
The Double Degree equips Law graduates with business insight and organisational awareness, enhancing their ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams where both legal and managerial perspectives must be integrated.
Conversely, the programme prepares Management graduates with a strong grounding in key legal frameworks and instruments, enabling them to understand the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary organisational challenges and to adopt a more integrated perspective on institutional and business realities.
Language of Instruction: Portuguese and English
Portuguese is the predominant language of instruction, although several curricular units are taught in English. As English plays an increasingly significant role in the business world — and is already an essential requirement for professionals in both Law and Management — the programme reflects this demand.
One of the core aims of the Double Degree in Law and Management is to prepare graduates to work not only in Portugal (or other Portuguese-speaking countries) but also internationally. In this regard, the University’s investment in English-taught courses aligns with global market expectations.
Accordingly, throughout the programme, each student must successfully complete three curricular units taught in English, namely:
- English for Law and Business
- Public International Law
- Strategy
Additional subjects may also be offered in English.
