Mapping faculty teaching practices and Strategies at UCP
Mapping teaching practices and pedagogical experiences of faculty members of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is one of the courses of action of CLIL | Católica Learning Innovation Lab.
The Lab aims to learn more about the teaching and learning methodologies used by UCP faculty and how educational models adopted are contributing to the holistic development of students.
The recurrent mapping of teaching practices and strategies of faculty aims to guide governance policies at UCP and contribute to scientific production outputs.
Communities of Learning and Practice
The Communities of Learning and Practice is a CLIL initiative aimed at helping the faculty of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) to explore and test new pedagogical approaches in the classroom.
For about three months, faculty who decide to participate in this activity can exchange experiences, create interdisciplinary partnerships, deepen a teaching area of interest, and develop several pedagogical outcomes.
These outcomes include, for example, rethinking the content of the Curricular Unit (CU) Sheet of a CU, designing and testing activities in the classroom, and reflecting on current pedagogical practices.
The Communities of Learning and Practice are held annually on a date to be set by CLIL.
The Cycle of Pedagogical Workshops
The Cycle of Pedagogical Workshops is an initiative of CLIL aimed at the faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).
The workshops are intended to allow the faculty members to explore new teaching-learning methodologies applied to Higher Education. They are held annually on a date to be defined by CLIL.
Reading Circles on Pedagogical Innovation
The Reading Circles on Pedagogical Innovation is an initiative promoted by CLIL to involve the community of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in the discussion of scientific articles related to Pedagogical Innovation.
The activity, very similar to a book club, takes place monthly in an online format and is open to all faculty who wish to participate, analyze and discuss the scientific article of the month.
With this activity, CLIL aims to promote scientific discussion on Pedagogical Innovation at UCP and raise awareness of the relevance of this topic.
Meetings about Pedagogical Innovation
CLIL organizes several Meetings about Pedagogical Innovation at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).
These meetings aim to promote discussion on the challenges of Pedagogical Innovation in Higher Education, involving faculty and students from UCP and community partners.
Among the several topics brought to debate are, for instance, the transferable skills that should be developed in students and the most suitable pedagogical models to promote these skills.
