The "Católica in! Innovate to Include" aims to contribute to the development and reinforcement of various initiatives underway at UCP to promote the transition, adaptation and academic success of its students, with particular emphasis on the first year of higher education, considered a critical period to deal with the demands and challenges of the university context.
- To contribute to the reduction of the levels of failure and dropout in higher education;
- Promote the academic success of students, especially in the first year of higher education;
- Strengthening self-learning and teamwork practices;
- Focusing on mechanisms for monitoring and academic integration of these students, namely via mentoring and monitoring by teachers and/or peers.
The "Católica in! Innovate to Include" is seen as a reference project in reducing the levels of failure and dropout in higher education.

- Identify and systematise strategies aimed at students at risk of failure and dropout.
- Reinforce strategies thematic workshops for the development of skills to support adaptation and success in HE
- Consolidate collaborative networks in the UCP community and the institutional valorisation of ongoing initiatives.
- Promote research on practices and initiatives to promote success and resilience in 1st year students.
